Mini Church Jan to Easter 2026

  Talk time.    Today is Mothers day - that means its a day when we say thank you to God for our Mummy.  And we are especially kind and nice to our Mums today. We give them hugs and kisses and tell them that we love them.   We can do that every single day of course, but Church wants to make sure that all Mums know how special they are so today we think about and pray for our Mums especially hard. What does your Mummy do for you?  Mummies work awfully hard for us and they love us very much so we are going to pray and ask God to be really good to our Mums.  Lets pray that God gives them a big hug and a kiss today and makes them smile and be very happy.    Pray Lesson  ; Do you remember what Jesus's Mummy was called? One day some pirates came and stole Patrick away and took him in their boat to ireland where they made him work hard in the fields looking after sheep.  Patrick was sad and lonely. He missed his Mum and Dad and he wanted to go home. He remembered that his Mummy had always told him to pray when he needed help and God would answer his prayers and help him. So he started to pray every day.  One night Patrick had a dream about a boat and when he woke up he knew he had to get to the sea and find a boat to go back home. So that is what he did.  So we learned over the past few weeks that God wanted to show us what He is like so He became a baby and was born into a normal family.  He was called Jesus.  Does anyone know what that name means?   It means ' God ( or The Lord) saves'   Names are really special.  Sometimes our names mean special things.  What does your name mean?    ( Google the meanings of the kids names - it can sometimes be very enlightening!!!)  Jesus had friends.  Three of His friends were called Lazarus, Mary and Martha.  They lived in a town called Bethany and Jesus used to go and visit them and have tea with them and hang out.  Remember that Jesus came to show us what God is like - God likes to hang out with His friends.  We are His friends!!! Would you like Jesus to come and hang out with you and have tea at your house?  That would be cool wouldnt it? If Jesus came for tea what would you do? Would you tidy up? Make some food? We have been learning all about Jesus and today we are going to see if we can remember everything we have learned. 1) We started off by learning that God is made up of three people,  God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.   Do you remember how we looked at an egg which is made up of a shell and an egg white and a yolk.  All 3 things are the egg but there are 3 different parts.  Thats like God.  Father, Son and Spirit are all God 2) But we cant see God.  So Jesus came to show us what God is like.   We learned that Jesus was born as a tiny baby and his Mum and Dad were poor.  God sent angels and special stars in the sky to let everyone know He was coming to earth but only some shepherds and a few wise men noticed.  Everyone else was too busy. 3) baby Jesus grew up in His family.  His Dad Joseph was a carpenter so Jesus worked as a carpenter too making tables and chairs and things out of wood 4) Another special baby ...
